That Franklin, is always the risk with me. Hence why I'll never take up the offer of a drive (or even a ride) in a C6!!
They are quite different from an XM or Xantia Jim, you should be fine with a trip out in one

Look forward to seeing you both at cxm.

D
Are all rear wheel bearings the same then for XM's?

I think they are according to service citroen
My XM Estate had what I thought was a rumbling wheel bearing. Turned out to be a knackered tyre. Had the same on a Golf GTi too. Might be worth a quick check/swap of wheel just to see. It sounded *exactly* like a knackered bearing.
Come to CXM, i owe you a pint.

I have my cruise control working again :) 100% functional, no naughtiness with the wiring.

Oh and the XM is back on form, refused to start this evening after driving it 15 miles, my fault i suppose, it was driven those 15 miles with the heated rear window on and lights on and the heating on and before that it was engine off, ignition on while testing the cruise circuits.

We will get there, i'm now only a few items away from a 100% functional XM and I WILL do it (how long it will stay at 100% i've no idea though)

Oh and i did have 2 lines of pixels out on the left hand display, i now only have 1 line out. I do like this car.

It's been a struggle but the fact i keep going with it should say plenty. It's a lovely car and I Love it.

New Receiver/Drier fitted this evening and i'm due to have an aircon guy come out to it tomorrow to leak test and hopefully fill with oil gas and dye :)

I also re-initialised the autobox and went for a drive, an awful lot smoother now :)

I'd rather the system was full of gas than empty with moisture in... and also demisting :)

It's the first time i've done that and the difference is astounding

update time.

Aircon regassed and refilled with oil and the UV dye. Compressor refused to kick in at first, had a wiggle of the relays by the fusebox et voila cold air. I've since cleaned up the contacts on all the relays down there and touch wood the aircon is still working as and when i want it and bloody hell it's good, I thought the HDi was good but this is better.

I have an occassional issue with starting, sometimes the car refuses to turnover, sounds like a dead battery but it's actually the starter solenoid not clicking in, a few goes and normality is resumed.

The front has been ruddy hard since i've had the car so i changed the front centre sphere (the bracket has been bent in the past so the sphere touches the rack, not funny) but this made no difference, so I'll be looking at the electrical side now i know it has a good sphere attached....

the cruise is working perfectly and on the last tank of fuel i got 31mpg, I really must get the LPG working.

That's all for now :)

You're preaching to the converted there Chris :-D

Went out in mine today for a trip to the nearest purveyor of LPG. Feeling like poo but a ride in an XM is positively therapeutic 8-)

I've got a lovely juddering under braking from the XM and also vibration coming from the o/s/f when you turn into a left hand corner. i suspect tracking as it's been done very badly. possibly this weekend i'll get the Xm down to be tracked and with any luck i'll fill her up with LPG...........
