Late S2 Xantia Wireless Removal?

Unread post by CitroJim »

Go on, I give up...

How do you remove the wireless from a very late S2 Xantia with the flip-up cover?

I see four holes around the edge of the wireless so I guess I need some form of special tool for this... Poking various round things down the holes does not produce the desired result...

Thanks!
Jim

Visit your local motor factor, tell them you need stereo removal keys - they will be able to tell you what kind you need for the particular stereo, should only cost you a couple of beer tokens.

Get a wire coat hanger, cut off two lengths of about 6" and bend each one to shape for the holes (one each side), works for me.

I just used to use a small electrical screwdriver.
Push it in the hole and pull the radio fascia to release one catch and whilst still pulling take it out and stick it in the other hole.
Once you get it out it's easy to see what you're trying to do. It's basically a leaf spring that you just push to one side.

Würth sell a tool that is quite neat. It splits in two, one side being a mirror of t'other. Rather like a Victorinox knife, you fold out the corresponding tool "prongs" on each part, then insert and ease out the radio.

NONE Of the Above Jim...

Have the flap in LOW position, flip off the Outer edge TRIM around the radio itself with a flat blade screw driver...

Behind there, 4x torx T20 Screws, two top , two bottom then the WHOLE lot comes away..!! =D> #-o

Simples!

Fastred, they arrived today and work absolutely perfectly. Many thanks indeed :-D

Paul, now with the surround clipped off (it wouldn't until the wireless itself was pulled slightly forward using the keys) all is now clear...

Thanks all :-D
