Green Spring

Any idea what the small green spring does which is attached to what looks a break pipe manifold on the rear axle.

I think it is the brake pressure regulating valve that the spring is attached to, however the arm of the valve apears to have siezed as ir does not move, any ideas how to free it?

They generally don't move much.

Before condemning it, maybe fondle a new one and see if the regulation lever has any more travel.

if it has seized it is usualy at the arm pivot poit, which if you lub and work lub and work lub and work it a few times it will free off,

Yes will get to it will Plusgas and mole grips, must wait untill the 2 feet of snow clears first

Any idea how much movement I shouls see if it is free to move.
It looks as if the lever bit is seized in the closed position as there is a gap of about 10mm between the lever and the underside of the adjusting bolt head.

just make sure it is moveing freely, and returns to rest on its own,

these dont move very far at all in normal use this is why the seize up,

but once free you will be able to move it by hane further than it does in normal use,
