C5 Phase 2 2.0 HDI - DPF?

Unread post by zilly »

Does the Phase 2.0 HDI have a DPF fitted? Or was it only on the 2.2 like the Phase 1?

Thanks

AFAIK all versions of HDi on the Phase II have the DPF (FAP).

Well I just found one on Ebay listed for the 04-08 2.0 HDi C5 so I guess they do have them!

Yes, every facelifted C5 diesel has a FAP filter. Except 1.6HDi 'DESIGN' models, which do not have a FAP filter. Ive no idea why they dont, but thats the one id be going for. 1.6HDi LX and VTR have FAP filters.

Thanks. Don't really fancy the 1.6 as it has no more power than my current 2.0HDi and I'm looking for an auto next time round.

The 138 2.0HDi is great though, ours drives so smoothly, certainly nicer to drive than the 2.0 110, which is good anyway.

Though if your going from a 2.0 110 manual to a 2.0 138 auto you might not notice as much difference, as autos sap a bit of power usually.

Our manual does around 44-45MPG and carries heavy loads.

My manual does around 43 mpg and spends most of its life at 70 on the motorway carrying just me .....I've always been a bit disappointed in the fuel consumption to be honest, so I reckon a 138 2.0 auto or even a 2.2 won't be a great deal worse!

Is that actual MPg from your 2.0 110 or is that the trip reading. As the 110s usually read under and the 138s read over.

That's real mpg, tank to tank........43.5 is probably the right number tbh. And I really do take it easy! I have a 60 mile round trip for work, 56 of which is motorway.

The trip computer reads about 1 mpg under on my car.

My car, 2.0 110, does around 43/44MPG too, however i never take it easy. I had 53MPG last week on a trip to edinbourgh and back.

Unread post by RKM »

I have a 56 plate C5 2.0 HDi 16v and was told by a Citroen dealer that it does have a FAP and the eolys fluid but a specialist tole me that i does have a FAP but no eolys.

If you have a FAP, which you do, you will have the eolys fluid. Which i think can be seen if you remove one of the heat sheilds in the middle of the car on the N/S, you should see a tank, and you can actually see fluid inside it.

So, does your 138 C5 have eolys? I would have thought that your car would be the same as mine.
