Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

When the engine turns over it tends to back-fire into the carb. My mechanic is baffled.

Sounds like a coolant circulations problem. Best bet would be to flush the system through with a good rad flush such as forte cooling system flush which you should be able to get from a good garage. And after you have done this give the system a good flush using a hose pipe by taking the bottom and top hose off first. Including the radiator and...

Sorry for this but thought I should let you know. Recently went to Tunisia for my holidays. Now me and the wife caught a taxi of a very old peugeot range probably from the 1970's. Not happy with the clanging from the back end on our return journey to the hotel we decided to stick to a more modern vehicle. so we ended up hailing a Renault Kangoo....

by badluckwithcars » 05 Dec 2003, 13:52

First post

an update: Have recently re checked the tyre pressures, it has made a slight difference. After sticking my head out of the window to see what happens when i steer i have found out that the steering actually loses contact with the wheels while i am turning about 1 degree to the left any further than that and steering is fine and i turn gracefully...

hi, i have a 1.8 Clio 16v and i have recently had some new break discs and pads because the old discs were warped. The breaks are now fine..better than ever infact. The mechanic also checked the tracking before handing it back to me. Now when driving in a straight line..especially on a bumpy road it feels like the front end of the car has a life...

by badluckwithcars » 23 Dec 2003, 15:21

i too have the same problem with my clio (must be common). Soon i will be attempting to fix the problem. But first we need to make sure that it isn't the matrix, hopfully it is just a blockage or air in the matrix. Drain the coolent and disconnect the hoses for the heater on the engine side. Then get a mate to pour very hot water into the hose...

I have a problem with a Clio , had it 6 months and never needed to use the heater when I first bought it 5 months ago. Now I do I can't obtain hot air. Thermostat is ok and hot water is traveling in and out of the bottom pipes therefore I have been warned it could be the heater matrix...any ideas? If it is the matrix how hard is it , can you flush...

Renault Laguna '98 Heater Blower probs

by CITMAN » 22 Nov 2003, 17:44

First post

My dad 1998 laguna had the same problem. I think the resistor pack leaves somehwere under the dash on the passenger side of the car. When I find the haynes manual ill let you know the exact location. Just pray its not the switch assembly as these cost £300 plus from renault. As I was told that a faulty switch can cause similar probs.

Last post

My heater blower motor only operates on setting 4 and the re-circulate settings do not blow either. Having had experience of Vauxhalls I presume it is my resistor pack gone down. Trouble is I don't know where it lives? Anyone any ideas before I rip my dash apart to find that it isn't there after all

Hi all i bought a second hand gear box from a scrap yard and have now found that the bell housing is different to the one on my car (2.0L rxe ) Is it possible to just change the housing over to fit it or is the gear box itself different?
Sorry i don't know much about engines but i don't want the garage ripping me off.

Clio radio

by rickity » 17 Nov 2003, 03:58

Just brought a clio, all very nice, but, the radio doesn't switch on and off with the ignition, but does switch off after about 25 mins all by its self.
Is this normal or should the radio switch on and off with the ignition.
thanks for any help before I go and challenge the main dealer.
Cheers
Rick
