gear problems

i have a renault 21 savanna i cannot use my first or second gear although my gear stick will go into 1st or second gear positions there is no drive but 3rd , 4th 5th and reverse all work properly also when you try to change from any gear to first there is a mechanical stop that will not allow you to change into first until you are at a slow speed (below 10 mph) or stationary while at the moment i can change into 1st while at any speed any help that any one canm give would be gratefully recieved

It could be a broken linkage or could just need the linkage adjusting.
Or it could need a new gearbox.
