Hello again,
after a few years away I'm back.
Used to drive Xantias and be on here regularly back when it looked different.
Been away with the Honda fairy for a while, and a few unloved french cars (205d, scenic, xsara 1.4).
Got an LDV pilot now with big plans.
It's got an XUD9, hence my reappearance.
I'll be swapping engine to turbo, adding land...

Thought I would introduce myself :)
From the East mids not sure how popular the area is on here (as in many members?)
Below is my needing much tlc vtr and well I'm up for making an appearance at my first meet in the new year if anyone would care to inform me of when one not too far away is :)

Had my '98 306 (xud non turbo) estate, 104k miles, since February and thought I should enlist to this great site. I've got previous form - a 405 xud to be precise, which ran great on cooking oil till it exprired of non-fuel related issues. Current car is Lucas equipped, so plain old diesel, at least for now.

Thought I'd register here as I've just bought my first Citroen, a 2002 C5 2.2HDi Executive SE. Very impressed with it so far, I think the first owner went a bit nuts and ticked every possible option box when he bought it. I'm sure the novelty of the big colour screen will wear off soon. :mrgreen:

Just a quick introduction from County Cork.I've been driving French cars for around 15 year.1xVisa Super E,2xBX Hatchbacks,2xBx Estates,1xZX Hatch,1xZX Estate a Peugeot 305 Van and a Kangoo Van.Presently we run a 2000 Xantia HDi 110 SX Hatch and a 2000 306 HDi estate.I like other cars(Also own a 1976 Saab 96)but nothing matches French stuff...

We're a two car family, both Citroen.

Mine's a 1998 Mk1 Xsara 1.9D Estate which I currently run on veg oil, slow as hell but gives 50+ MPG and is relatively easy to work on.

Wife's is a 2001 MK2 Xsara 2.0 HDi Automatic Estate, very economical for an automatic and get around 47-49...

My only French car right now is a 405 Le Mans which i have had for 4 years and until recently has been my regular daily transport, but now its taking life a little easier, although i also look after my fathers 406 V6 saloon ( which was mine many years ago).

My first brush with Citroens was because as I came to driving age my farther had a 1973L GS 1220 Club in metallic green, I did my driving practice on it and then when I passed my test I got to borrow it. My farther continued to have Citroens, several GSs, a Visa, GSA and BXs. I borrowed most of his cars for odd trips but bought too of then from...

Upgraded from Ford Sierras to my first Xantia 1.9TD
Then bought a 3.0 exclusive which i still have.
Bought another slightly older 3.0 exclusive when the 1.9 gave up the ghost.
Got myself a C5 dual fuel a few weeks ago.

hi i used to own a peugeot 406 1.9td intill yesterday. Now i have a citroen xantia and what a better drive and better aquiped car, it makes the pug seem very slow and unrevined. its nice to be able to overtake without a run up. Pug was an 97 and the xantia is a 95.

Just bought a C5 2.2HDi and very pleased with it, done the drop links and also replaced the drive belt damper pulley already!
