106 idleing at 4000rpm

Unread post by tomicarr »

Good evening folks,

I've just got hold of a lovely low mileage 106, 18,500 with one previous owner.

It runs beautifully most of the time, however it's over-revving when I change gear, sometimes it revs to 4000rpm and stays there until I turn the car off, it seems fine once I restart it.

Has anyone had this before? Do I need to be looking at cleaning up the throttle body?

Many Thanks,

The peddle feels normal, I'll take the air supply off and have a look. I'm pretty sure it's not my size 11 stompers but it's every bit plausible 😅
