citroen C5II steering angle sensor calibration is not possible.

Unread post by sydo »

My C5 II had a break in the airbag flex cable of the COM2003 unit. I fixed the airbag cable problem without removing the COM2003 unit and reinstalled it. The airbag issue was resolved, but this time the ESP light came on. The Lexia diagnostic tool showed a fault in the steering angle sensor. I completely removed the COM2003 unit, installed the angle sensor as shown in the picture, and reinstalled it, but the problem persists. The steering angle sensor calibration cannot be performed.

I have moved your post to the Citroen forum which is the better place to get some response on actual mechanical problems. Good luck :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

It took my a number of goes (3) to recalibrate my steering angle sensor on my C5, (X7), I was getting very frustrated so went back to the the beginning. All tyre pressures and tracking have to correct. You will need a very flat piece of car park to drive the car in a very straight line, any slight camber messes things up, as well as accelerating and braking, ideally perform the procedure on tick over and DON'T touch any thing. I used Diagbox on a laptop with a good battery.

But the instructions say to do it with the car stopped, the engine not running, and the ignition on.

What instructions? I'm referring to the Citroën service guides from within Diagbox, quick search of the Web, some cars can be reset stationary, I'm just relayong what had to do.
Sorry , can't be much help as I no longer have a C5 to connect to.
