3008 - Trailer relay unit locatin

Unread post by Er3008 »

Hi all
my car:
3008 year 2022 - Diesel

I have an error related to the trailer relay
U1F45 Fault
"absence of communication with the trailer relay unit"
WhatsApp Image 2025-07-20 at 13.01.48_23c0a1f8.jpg
Please advise
1 - where is this relay is located in my car?
2 - What can trigger this error?
and
how can I resolve this issue?

The trailer socket is dry

Thanks!
Eran

This link takes you to a site which has the trailer box fusing details, and checking the fuse may be a good place to start. I haven't as yet discovered where the actual box is but I'm still looking!! :) https://fuse-box.info/peugeot/peugeot-3 ... 2016-fuses

This video shows you how to confirm the trailer unit is configured.

In the UK you get a 3 year warranty on cars, if this applies in your country then you should be able to get your dealer to fix this.

On my C5 X7 Tourer the towing (which I presume is the same as trailer) ECU is hidden behind the trim panel between the rear wheel arch and tailgate. I further presume that any relay would be part of that.

If the relay is working and you switch the hazards lights on you might be able to hear it clicking and help locate it.
