It's an easy non stop drive at 70/80 km/hr .
It's due for a dealer service at the end of this month so she'll mention this but I'm curious as it seems to be happening more frequently.
It's not that often as far as I know . I only know about it if she remembers to tell me or I hear it running when she returns home & parks it in our crinkley tin barn. Doesn't seem to be outside temp. dependent. She's just returned . 22C outside temp & no fan running with engine off.RichardW wrote: 12 Jun 2025, 08:53 They do that if a DPF regen is in progress when engine stopped. But if it's doing it all the time, suggestive of a fault somewhere. How many km has it done?

It's done just over 120,000km
Thanks for reply Richard. That'll put Mme's mind at rest.RichardW wrote: 18 Jun 2025, 08:14 'Sounds' like it was just coincidence and it was mid regen when stopped. 120k km is not really far enough for the ECU to think the DPF is end of life (usually around 100-110k miles so 160-175k km) - and in this case usually you just get a continuous Risk of DPF Clogging error message.
Done but thanks for posting.PaulC5 wrote: 18 Jun 2025, 12:03 If not already done, the timing belt was due for replacement at 10 years old, just a reminder and nothing to do with the fan running.
