Hi,
I need help. A few days ago my wife drove up to the house, turned off the engine and opened the gate - C3 has not wanted to start the engine since then.
After connecting the computer, the following errors appeared: P0409, P1351, P1162 and P0489.
Since then I have done: cleaned the FAP filter, replaced the FAP pressure sensor, cleaned the EGR valve and replaced the fuel filter - the engine still does not want to start.
Please help me what else should I check and replace to get the engine to work.
Best regards
Hazy

Hey mate, I just seen your post and I am having a very similar problem with my C4 Picasso 1.6 HDI. I am also receiving P1351 and P0409, although you can discard the P1351 as it is a normal occurrence on these engines. I will be watching your thread for insights.

This might be of some help if you got air in your fuel lines while you had the filter out.

The car stalled and wouldn't start before I replaced the fuel filter. The new filter was filled with fresh fuel before installation. After replacing the filter, the excess fuel lines (fuel return to the tank) were removed and fuel was supplied.

You could check the camshaft sensor (on backside behind the inlet side of the manifold, it was hard to get to on mine I had to remove wipers ans scuttles), crankshaft sensor (beside crank pulley, see image), I inspected my fuel rail sensor as well because I had the gearbox removed and thought it might be damaged. So far none of these seem to be the cause of my problem, I am messing with the EGR now since it is a pretty crappy knock off.

You need to look at the live data when cranking, have you got fuel pressure, does cam/crank synch change to yes, and can you see engine rpm (about 180 cranking)? Sudden stop on these is often due to the cambelt breaking....
