Sudden Stop

Hello.

Vehicle 2.0 HDI 163 ps DW10CTED4.

When I enter a high altitude place, say 1000m and above. When I want to start the vehicle after resting for a while, it starts first and then stops after 3 seconds. No fault light is on. When I try to start it, it hardly works. There is no such problem at sea level. Most recently, it happened again today. This time it gave the fault code P1497 (no warning on the display). I cleared the fault, went down to sea level and no error code came again.

Could it be the crank sensor or maybe a problematic fuel filter?

I had a similar issue on My Citron Xsara Picasso.
It was a bad connection on a pin on a plug in the Fuse box under the bonnet. The plug connected the fuel pump to the fuse box.
the plug was located beside the fuel pump fuse. to temporally fix i pushed a needle into the back of the pin where the cable enters the connector while it was connected to the fuse box.

this held out for about six months until i got around to repairing the pin.

If you’re sure it’s reliably linked to atmospheric pressure, it could potentially be a problem with the Mass Air Pressure Sensor (if your car has one - I’m not familiar enough with that engine to know).
Do you have access to Diagbox or another diagnostic tool that can read live data from the car engine ECU?

Probablly problem with fuel system.
