Hi all,
I am new to this Forum, so I might have missed this topic while trying to search my problem.
I have a C5 X7 2.2hdi tourer with the electric tailgate. I had a problem where the third (high) braking light and electric tailgate were not working. I could operate the tailgate only manually. I opened the part where the cables go from the car into the tailgate and found that 3 cables were broken. Two were for the braking light, which started working after connecting cables, and the other one was for the tailgate which we connected but still no power seems to go to the tailgate. Even the switch to close the tailgate is not lit.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Re: C5 X7 electric tailgate issue
I have an update on the issue. So looks like the previous owner didn’t know that there was a broken wire and couldn’t fix the tailgate, so he disconnected the power plug that goes into the tailgate motor, and removed the strut cables from the motor. I connected everything and the power came back to the closing switch. Now, there is two beeps every time I press the button to open the tailgate or close it, even when the car is running

Good work getting as far as you have.
Now that you have it powered and it’s beeping, it might be worth some investigation with diagbox, to see if that sheds any further light at this stage?

Re: C5 X7 electric tailgate issue
I will try and find someone with a Diagbox or something similar that can diagnose the issue more accurately. It is hard to find someone where I live, everyone seems to be lazy to diagnose it. I'll write an update if I can find the issue. Another question I have is if I connected the strut cables correctly to the tailgate motor, don't know if there is a specific procedure. Might be the tailgate needs a calibration for the tailgate to work?

Yes, they will need calibration .....and the only way to talk to the sub-ECU's is Via Lexia/Diagbox system (other "general" types will not talk to the sub ECU's)
You NEED this system (Lexia/Diagbox) if you plan to work on a Citroen C5x7...it is a small price to pay for such a tool
