I am in the process of fitting a RCZ analogue clock into my 308cc.
I have taken the 12v+,Neg, CAN High and low from the stereo (aftermarket Chinese Android)
When you first add power to it, the hands spin around for about 30 seconds, and stops at random different times.
I have tried resetting the dash display clock, as the usual way of changing the time on the RCZ, but doesn't set the Analogue.
Having next to no knowledge of CAN bus voodoo, is there only one high and one low on the car, so it doesn't matter where you tap into it. Or do i need to find the wires that (on the RCZ) connect the BSI to the clock.
Couple of pointers if anyone else wants to do this retrofit. Removing the radio display and the vent is a right pain to remove, and you will have to modify the hole to fit the clock.

Curious as to why an analogue clock needs a CAN connection? surely just needs a permanent live & earth?

There's no way (physically) to set the time on the clock itself, i think it takes the time from the radio display, which you can manually set.wheeler wrote: 25 Apr 2025, 17:54 Curious as to why an analogue clock needs a CAN connection? surely just needs a permanent live & earth?

Seems a bit overkill for a clock that only tells the time? Do you have a link to the item to see what you have?
You can generally tap into the CAN anywhere at any of the ECU's connected to it.

I agree but it looks "classy"wheeler wrote: 26 Apr 2025, 13:13 Seems a bit overkill for a clock that only tells the time? Do you have a link to the item to see what you have?

It has 4 wires, battery + and - . Can high and low.
I have taken the connections from the head unit side of the stereo Fakra connection.
Getting .5v on the low and 4.5v on the high (don't know the significance of that)
The clock is receiving something on the CAN bus, as the lighting dims when the lights come on.

Re: CAN bus Tap In
Sounds OK, the theoretical value of the CAN should be 2.5v each but as long as both add up to 5v it should be fine.
The fact that the lights on it dim when the lights are switched on suggest it probable has a good connection to the CAN.
Are you sure there is no way to set the time? what do the instructions say?

Just found this on youtube, had to use translate but there is talk of having to change a setting with diagbox

Bodge way, as i haven't final fixed everything yet, i took the front of the clock off and moved the hands round, but once fitted,it will mean having to remove the radio to get at the clock to change the time.wheeler wrote: 27 Apr 2025, 10:59 .

Just looking through his other videos, i think the mention of Diagbox configuration he says he may cover in another videowheeler wrote: 27 Apr 2025, 11:02 Just found this on youtube, had to use translate but there is talk of having to change a setting with diagbox
I have been through the settings in Diagbox, and switch a few possibly connected things on, but no luck.
His wiring (loom) colours are different from mine, and i think the CAN H and CAN L pins on the stereo are the opposite way around. I have 4.4v on pin 13 and .6v on pin .
But i tried it the other way round, no change, and i think the clock lighting is now not working, i will try it when it gets dark.
