Advised by Martin Lewis money saving expert, to re-tax my EV before the April 1st deadline to get another free year even though the car is already taxed so I did just that today, some obstacles were thrown up so now it's wait and see what happens.

Hoping my replacement Mazda will be ready to tax before the end of the month. Old one still taxed and insured until it gets dragged away.

Checked and DVLA is showing it as taxed to 01/03/26

I'll be doing our Pug 308 soon - but not until my other car passes its MOT retest on Monday.

Then I'll transfer the 308 from my wife's name to mine. This will have the effect of cancelling the tax and then, after changing the insurance to reflect the new name on the V5, I'll retax it. As my wife doesn't drive any more I've been meaning to do this for ages and this is the obvious time.
