I've just changed the clutch, and due to ineptitude, have spilled some of the gearbox oil. It was pretty dark anyway, so its time to replace. Seems there's no level plug on these 6 speed boxes, which is a pain. Also theres two versions, one with 'fins' and one without. I'm sure these are obvious to someone in the know, or with both boxes on the bench, but sadly I dont know, and only have the one !
Anybody out there can help me with deciding if I need 1.9 litres or 2.6 ? I think that the older vans needed 2.6, and mine at 2014 should have 'fins' and be OK with 1.9. fingers crossed, as gearbox oil isnt cheap !

Thanks Richard, I've just popped back out and grabbed the number - should have though of that before I came in for dinner !
It's YARXUAHZ8DZ039172
Its a 2.0 hdi Toyota Proace, which is the same as a Dispatch/Expert/Scudo.

OK, I know its a Toyota, but really its just a rebadged Dispatch / Expert ! Anybody like to a take a look under their 2.0 Hdi 120hp/136hp engined beast with a 6 speed box and grab a picture so I have a few examples to check against to see if mine is the 'finned' version or not ? The oil suppliers dont seem able to tell me, they all show that it could be either 1.9 or 2.6 litres !
Diagbox talks to it a treat, Toyota didnt even demand their own software.

Can't really confirm as it's a Toyota VIN and PSA systems don't support other manufacturer's VINs.

Thanks for the link, I will take a look for fins like that. Even after heaving the gearbox away from the engine and putting it back, i can't picture the underneath of the casing !

Yep, fins present like the pic in that thread, so 1.9 litres poured in.
Clutch was slipping with harsh accel, but the friction plate isnt that worn. Its got one of those fancy adjusting mechanisms in the pressure plate, but I can't tell if that has reached its limit.
New clutch is in and no slipping now !
CV boots were a pain - both outers were slightly split. I had a febi one in the garage, and that was absolute garbage - made out of really hard and inflexible material, too big diameter for the CV joint outer and a nice shiny clip made out of very thin soft cheese. Even with a recovered sturdy CV clip, it simply popped off as soon as the steering was turned to lock. 2 soft and snug Shaftec boots with robust clips worked much better !
