Morning Folks, running a mk1 508sw on a 13 plate with led directional headlights.
Struggling with a particular fault in that regularly the main beam fails to work either flashing or switching on, also happens when auto main beam is in action.
Works perfectly 60% of times.
It's both headlamps that fail to operate so feel it's probably not bulbs or fuse related
and it puts a check main beams warning when it happens

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Main Beam issue
According to my info, a 2013 model didn't have LED headlamps (these were directional Xenons), but if you have the VIN I can confirm. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Main Beam issue
Ok, so these are directional Xenons as I suspected.
It's the engine Fusebox that controls supply to the Main Beams, specifically Fuse F11 (wire CM11).
However the dimmer controls are also fused separately for the left and right hand headlamps, also in the engine fusebox, and are fuses F27 (wire 2612 - left hand dimmer control) and F28 (wire 2611) right hand dimmer control), so I'd have these checked out and make sure the fuses are securely fitted.
A further possibility is the engine fusebox, which are known to fail over time due to 'weathering' and age, where they can suffer a bit of corrosion internally.
Diagram here:

With the exception of the wiring codes, most of the component codes are indexed here:
2610 is the Left Headlamp and 2615 the Right.

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Main Beam issue
That's great info Marc, seeing that when the main beams fail they come back within seconds and no input from me, it makes sense that it could be a connection issue. Where do I find the relay location, there's nothing in the manual. Looking at R6 in PSF1

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Main Beam issue
Relays are not user serviceable - they're contained inside the engine fusebox which is a replaceable service unit - not designed to be opened or repaired.

Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Headlamp issues
Evening all, bit of advice if you clever people can help. I'm running a uk 2013 508 SW Allure with Hid directional headlamps. Marc, on this forum helped me recently regarding an intermittent fault where the main beam on both lamps fails to work both on the stalk and auto button and suggested possible fuse box as a cause. Now prior to replacing the fuse box, further issues have arisen, namely height adjustment failure warning, resulting in dipped beam lamp on the speedo flashing and loss of directional headlamps and corner illumination from front driving/fog lamps.
Have noticed the rear suspension sensor link arm is snapped but can't see how a mechanical linkage can cause an electrical malfunction but who knows!
Anyway that's the issues, my basic obd reader reports no faults stored, is there anyone close to Manchester ish able to code read, least I can get an idea.

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Headlamp issues
If the rear height corrector linkage is broken that will be causing the issue. Had the same on my 3008, I've wired it back on, as a new one is £250+ and riveted to the floor of the car, no idea how you would change it!

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Headlamp issues
Thanks Richard, I've had similar thoughts. I just can't see how it would cause the fault. I've set the arm at a base position for unloaded vehicle. The headlights self check moving up and down on start up. And also why would that sensor stop directional and corner lighting.

If you can scan it with a decent diag tool it will tell you what it is upset about.

Re: Mk1 Peugeot 508sw Main Beam issue
Hi Marc, sorry to rehash this topic.
Do you think there's a connection between my initial beam fault above and new issue of directional lights and height adjustment warning illuminated inc flashing green dipped beam on speedo?
The headlamps do their initial up/down on start up as normal.
