Hi
I've had my C5 less than a week and the MyCitroen app is offering me Connected Navigation Pack for €99.90 per year or €9.99 a month. It seems to be a TomTom system, which I'm familiar with after happily using their devices for many years.
I'm still figuring out my way around the car as I didn't get a handbook when I bought it, although I have downloaded the PDF version. All 5 million pages...!
Looking for first hand info about the best option. I think I can view my iPhone's mapping on the screen, but not sure if that's the best way as I live in France where the mobile signal can be patchy in the rural areas.
And there's a lot rural in France...!
Is this a good deal...?

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
Hi
Ok, so Citroen Navigation pack used to be free - not so any longer - after 3 years they now charge you as above.
My personal advice is ditch it - it's just not worth it.
As you have Apple CarPlay, I highly recommend Sygic Navigation. I have this and pay about £14 a year (but it remains free for Navigation if you don't want the premium features.
The best part is the maps are far more accurate, released much more frequently and seem to include the most recent changes far ahead of the factory system. Sygic works worldwide so you won't have an issue and you only need to download the maps you need, freeing storage space on your phone.
I still have free maps for life (as that was the deal in force when I bought mine), but despite this, have still ditched it in favour the sygic system.

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
Hi Marc, thanks for your help and I'm sorry it's taken a while to reply.
I wasn't sure if this was a limited time offer from Citroen so I bought the it.
It seems to be working well and TomTom is familiar territory for us. It seems I have to update the Maps at some point, I'll have to figure how to do it. Read up on it and it seems not to be the easiest procedure...!
Not sure if I have connected Apple CarPlay or not. I can play my music from the phone but no way (as far as I can tell) to put Apple maps from the phone on to the screen.
I did try Sygic a few years ago, but prefered Apple Maps.

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
Hi, no problem. If you have Connected Nav, which you will if you have navigation built in, then the system is already Android Auto (for Android Phones) and Apple CarPlay compatible.
All you have to do is connect your iPhone via a USB cable to the vehicle's USB port. Then leave it for a few seconds to register on the Touchscreen, then press or touch the following 'hard' button :
shown under the display here:
This will then mirror your iPhone to your vehicle's touchscreen and you will have all the CarPlay enabled Apps available including Apple Maps or any other Map programme like Sygic or Waze.
You can then use Siri as normal, or press and hold the voice command button on the steering wheel to activate Siri (short press of voice command activates vehicle voice command interface, long press activates Siri on CarPlay)

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
Hi Marc.
I've been trying to follow your instructions for weeks, finally sorted it yesterday.
I had no luck, tried my phone and also my wife's. Both iPhone 16 Pro Plus, nothing. Changed cables, nothing.
Eventually in desperation, I tried a third cable... Bingo...!!
Thanks for your help.
Now trying to get the stop/start to work. I know lots of folk don't like it but I'd like to try it for myself.
Cheers

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
That is the most common problem! Cheap cables - some are only designed for charging and do not carry data channels, so will never work. I always recommend using an original cable from Apple - they're not that expensive and guaranteed to perform, keep your equipment safe from under / over voltage issues and generally just work.

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
Yes, you're right. Like all Apple stuff, it just works...!
The cable I bought was labeled "data and charging".
I can now use Apple Maps as well as the TomTom guidance.
Now, if anyone has a spare morning, can you pop over to update my TomTom stuff please...?
Coffee provided...

Re: Connected Navigation Pack
Thanks Marc.
Just had a quick look at the 70+ pages of that thread. I'm afraid that process is totally over my head.
I live in France, so I guess I can take it into my local dealer and get them to do it.
At some cost, I would guess...!!
