Hello all,
Whilst looking underneath my Xsara I spotted a brown plug which wasn’t connected and is just hanging close to the oil filter. Wondered if anyone knows what it’s for and where it plugs into. It’s not causing the car any problems so have left it for now.

If that don't help someone else might pick this thread up, some engine looms have plugs like this , not sure I've seen one just hanging near the oil pump , I've seen ones where fog light would be fitted. Hope you find out what yours is

Yes, it may well be for something that was not fitted to your car, My best guess would be an oil level or temperature sensor.
If you want to know for sure if you pull back the sheath on the wiring there will be codes printed on the wires, we can use this to ID what they are for.
