Hi. can you post your VIN - as we'll need to identify the correct engine and equipment fitted.

In the interim, I'm basing the info below on a XSARA II, 1.6i 16V Petrol 110 (TU5JP4) engine.
Xsara Engine Harness.PNG
Xsara Under Bonnet Wiring.PNG
Front Engine Wiring Harness(1) Main Harness
(10) Fog Light Harness
(13) Adaptation Loom
(15) Dashboard Fuller Wiring Harness
(30) Main Wiring Loom Protector[/td
If you can identify it from these and then PM or post your VIN I might be able to look at the electrical diagrams for further info.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Looks like it may be an interference capacitor/suppressor fitted to the coil wiring & bolted to the cylinder head, it may have been added on after manufacture to rectify certain faults. This means it may not show up if you check it by VIN on Citroen service. Some TU engines have them originally & some don't.
The part no for it is 6555K9.

wheeler- an interference capacitor/suppressor fitted to the coil wiring & bolted to the cylinder head, I am sure you are right.
You’re a genius thank you very much.
I will go to the Citroen Gargage and see if they have one, failing that order one on ebay.
I am guessing its not that a serious fault.
Thank you again and again, William
