C3 Picasso Blower Problem
Hi everyone, I've owned my Citroen for 7 years now and looking to spend some money next year to keep it and get in excellent shape. However, my problem began a few years back when the blower stopped completely. I bought a new resistor and still nothing, so replace the blower and it works as follows: Settings "off", 1, 2, 3 and 4 all make the fan go full speed while setting 5 switches it off. I haven't bothered with it for a while as I thought at least it kind of works albeit no air con. Anyway, I decided to try and sort it, so bought another resistor "Valeo" and replaced it, but no change. Any ideas ?? Thanks

Re: C3 Picasso Blower Problem
It sounds like the incorrect resistor was fitted or a cheap one was fitted that's not up to the job. Usually it's full speed or nothing when the blower motor control module goes, but these vary considerably in quality and price.

Thanks for that. It's just driving me nuts as I have now used 3 new resistors (all made by Valeo) and still the same.

Update - renewed resistor today, checked all wiring. Still the same - full blast on settings 4 to off, and max setting 5 turns it off...help!!

Re: C3 Picasso Blower Problem
Have you had a diagnostic session run on Diagbox Kevin? I ask as it may reveal the root cause of this issue and the diagnostics may well offer an 'Actuator Test' that will test/exercise the blower at each speed.
I'm thinking the blower speed regulator may be receiving misleading signals via the aircon ECU...

And I'd also just add that are you sure you replaced with the correct part number? These are all different (despite looking similar) and must be the correct module. If you have the part number you ordered and provide your VIN I may be at least able check if the part is correct. Valeo are a good OEM brand, so unless they were fakes, we'll need to look at other issues. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

What's the part number of the module you bought (or the link to the exact unit on the website)?
Should be this one:

Re: C3 Picasso Blower Problem
So the one in the picture I provided with the part number on the box is the correct one for your vehicle, not 6441AA.
