I brought a Hertz H8 DSP a while ago and want to fit it to my Citroen C4 2008 using the original rd4 radio. I have already got amps and subs in the boot which are using a Sony mex N5100bt as a source which I installed.
Can the Rd4 be reprogrammed to use a bluetooth aux in adaptor from AliExpress? I use a tablet as my front end and would like to use the orginal Stereo via Bluetooth as I currently do. I don't need hands free or microphone as I never answer calls in my car.
This will also enable me to use the stalk controls and be able to change the clock on the display. It will also mean that my car will look more stock and less appealing to thiefs.
If it can be reprogrammed to accept the aux input what do I need to use for this?
Thanks
Adam
Citroen C4 Rd4 is it possible to add a bluetooth receiver module?

Vin number VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] if this is required

The RD4 has no Bluetooth native support. Bluetooth was only handled on RD4 via the optional factory fitted Hands free kit. This was specifically designed to work with the RD4 but handled the bluetooth calls independently. The RD4 cannot be ‘programmed’ for Bluetooth as it does not have the hardware or capability.

You would have to ask the vendor on AliExpress the specific question of whether their Bluetooth adapter works with the RD4 unit.

If you can find a factory fitted "Nomad" unit, it should be possible to fit it to your car as most were pre-wired for it. You would need to do some reconfiguration with diagbox to make the car talk to it.
The other common path is to upgrade the RD4 to an RD45 with built-in Bluetooth, as is documented in other topics here.

There's bluetooth modules that connect to the aux-in, eg, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304534846319 which might be worth a try if you want the cheapest possible solution.
I went for an RD4 -> RD45 swap, and after some teething troubles (with a faulty head unit that was returned) I'm happy enough with the results. I already had a diagbox so could code the unit to suit, and was happy enough to make-up the missing wiring myself. If I had to pay to get those tasks done, an Android head unit and some adapters are in a similar price range.

Re: Citroen C4 Rd4 is it possible to add a bluetooth receiver module?
I went and got the RD45 with a new screen, installed it, and can see and connect to the Bluetooth module. How does one play music through it or is it automatic? Pressing source doesn't seem to give me a Bluetooth option only radio and aux 1.
I've connected the phone via calls and my tablet via audio using the Bluetooth options.
Another point is within diagbox, I've coded the VIN but it still says that the ECU doesn't recognise the radio or screen (I've got no beeping as some people have said in other posts). I can however operate the options and see diagnostic information. It shows I'm connected to my phone, and I can change the display options like, brightness. I can also see the bit that shows mileage, mpg and trip. So I know its communicating with the car and the controls on my steering wheel.

The RD45 not being recognised by the BSI is a standard error and can be ignored.
Did you configure the RD45 inputs in Diagbox? The configuration for my car is shown in the last 3 images of this post: viewtopic.php?p=605092#p605092

Most likely
RD45 - Radio Configuration - Streaming Function - Set to "Activated".
It's a bit odd that bluetooth calling is active but not streaming, but who knows what goes on in those Galouises-addled minds?
