Bolt dimensions

Unread post by Ammonia2418 »

Does anyone know the dimensions for the bolt listed as "C" here

https://catalogs.ssg.asia/peugeot/?lang ... T1NDSCA%3D

I have this caliper bolt that has rounded off, and I do not want to buy a caliper repair kit which has this bolt included, I just need the bolt itself but cant find info on this bolt so I can just pick one up at the hardware store. Anyone have any info ?

The bolt is safety-critical and likely to be of high tensile steel... You may find one that will fit at a hardware store but it's unlikely to be of the correct specification.

I'd not risk it. One's life can depend upon correctly functioning brakes.

You often get them with new pad sets. Otherwise, remove the bottom bolt, measure it, and then get one to suit. Note the spec on the existing bolt (if you can read the number!) - these will be high tensile bolts of some sort.

The bolt is M8 x 1.0 pitch 22mm long. 10.9 Grade High Tensile...

1.0 Pitch metric fine not the normal hardware stock, neither is 10.9 grade
Thanx to all the admins & knowledgeable people that make this the best forum on the interweb. BUT COME BACK MARC , We miss you! =D> =D> =D>

As citroJim has said, they are very special calliper only bolts. So why not buy the kits, items 5 or 6 in the link.
