C5X - Collision Risk Alert/Active Safety Brake Warning light.

Unread post by Sloppysod »

I have had this warning light ( Collision Risk Alert/Active Safety Brake Warning light.l
Screenshot_20240930_131903_My Citron.jpg
appear 4 times since owning the car, always when it's been raining, so my assumption is water is getting somewhere it shouldn't.

I have just spoken to my Citroën dealer regarding a diagnostic check under warranty, however, if they don't find the fault I will be liable for the £144 fee, and as this fault is very intermittent there is every chance they won't.

So my questions are, would this be one of those faults that stays and can only be erased by the garage, and are there any recalls regarding this?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry about it Stu - this can happen due to poor visibility like rain, fog etc. There are 2 options with camera only or with both camera and radar, but on systems with both fitted, if the light illuminates whilst driving it is normal and just means the conditions are not met for the system to fully operate.
This warning lamp lights up on the instrument panel without any additional message, to indicate that the “automatic braking system” is not available. This is a normal behaviour indicating that a condition is not fulfilled and which does not request the support of a workshop.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

I have a 5 week old C3 2025 and I’ve had the same issue this week with the Lane assist and Collision Risk alert lights coming up with the engine management light all lighting up ,3 times in a week and takes a while to go away this shouldn’t be happening and when I called the 2 Citroen dealerships they have a massive backlog of cars getting fixed for the airbags
But they said to me yes you will get charged £144 if we find no lights on when you bring it in,but how the hell am I meant to get the car to them before the lights go off,
Plus they can’t see me till the end of September 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Could you use your phone to photograph and/or video the display when this happens. There will be then a visible record with time and date saved along with it.

When you say "...a while to go away..." how long is while? My warning light disappeared within a few hundred yards (but less in metres😊). Also, since the instance above, I think it'sonly happened once or twice since, and always in heavy rain! In simple speak, I think the radar (the square in the middle of the lower grille), gets battery and can't see as well as it should, thus activates the warnings.

I'm not sure it's possible to take a video, well, on mine the warning message and lights only came on for a while, and while driving, but they did clear quickly.
