Hi
I have dual climate control, everything works fine except i only have cold air on drivers side.
I have traced the problem to the mixer flap on drivers side
Is it possible to repair these or do i need an entire heating unit
The vin number is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Thanks in advance

Re: 508 2014 drivers heating
Has anyone got a parts list for the heater unit. It would help me out a lot. My mechanic doesn’t want to tackle it even i could show him exactly whip flap was gone
If i could get a part number , i would reluctantly tackle it myself and fix or find a used uniit
Please help.. weather getting colder

It could be 2 things from what you've described on this 508. The actual reduction motor that operates the rods that operate the flaps, or the rods themselves, which can snap or wear out.
If you require parts for the motors or the rod repair kits, please see below as we have to pay for this info:
We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or vehicle factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.
If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.

Re: 508 2014 drivers heating
Many thanks for your reply
Unfortunately the problem is with the flap. There is no resistance when i manually turn it. I can feel resistance from other flaps when i turn them by hand
I would be hoping that there is a repair kit available and if so would like to have the parts before i pull out the dash.. looks like a nightmare to do but I don’t have a choice
Thanks again

Re: 508 2014 drivers heating
Thanks for your Forum donation.
Here are the diagrams for the components I think your are interested in:
These are the reduction motors for the air mixing and air distribution:
(6) Air Conditioner Reduction Gear, part: 6479E7, £156.11
(7) Air Conditioner Reduction Gear, part: 6479H8, £139.94
Here is the Reduction Motor Rod Kit that I mentioned. These are plastic and the gearing can snap or wear out - hence the replacement kits:
(8) Reduction Motor Rod Kit, part: 5479H6, £98.34

Thanks Marc. I will have to take another look at it. I can’t really determine from the diagram.

Re: 508 2014 drivers heating
I can tell you that it's rarely the actual reduction motors that fail - it's usually worn spindles or gear linkage that's the issue as these are plastic, hence why hearing the motor is no indication that the rods have failed as if they have snapped they'll just turn in the motor socket. So looks like it may take a bit of investigation.
If I get time tomorrow, I'll put up a guide for you in the Members' section showing how to access and replace these.

Hi. The motors are fine. The problem is with gears or flap inside the unit. I will have a better look at it tomorrow.
Really appreciate your help

Yes, as I said it rarely is the motors. Do you want the guide or are you going to investigate - it would save me an hour if you don't need it - please let me know.

I will investigate it further. I will let you know what I discover.
Does the dash have to come out to replace the rod kit?
Appreciate your help on this matter

No, not the dash, but the small trim piece by the gear stick / selector on the left, then the lower passenger well side trim panel to get a good look.

Re: 508 2014 drivers heating
Hi. Sorry for not getting back sooner. Have only had a chance to look at it again today
I took a couple of photos of where my issue lies.
Its the white lever at the back that is the issue. When i manually turn it , it feels like it’s not moving anything inside
The front white lever is fine and can feel movement inside
Driver side Rhd car

Your files are blank, so I've deleted them, as they'll not serve any purpose in this format - try using a snip tool rather than a screenshot to avoid this.
