Just bought a DS3 & have loadsa questions

Unread post by Blue120 »

I just bought a DS3 blueHDI 120 and although it has receipts for work done, there's no service book. It's a Dsport plus, with the basic tan MFD, and digital aircon.

Last timing belt was 33K ago and 7K since oil changed.

There also doesn't seem to be a Haynes manual available, is there any equivalent?

Is any reasonably priced diagnostics testing equipment worth going for?

Is there any way of shifting the ODB2 socket, so a Bluetooth one can be left in place?

Who designed the glove box? #-o

I normally do ending 5 & 0 thousands of mile oil changes, but have no idea of the advised inteval.

With the sum plug being raised, is it worth a quick hoover through the dipstick too?

How do I discover the paint codes, as the door/door frame/engine bay have no stickers. But I'd guess that would just mention the body rather than the roof/door tops.

Aircon is warm, but from online it seems electrics are more likely than a recharge. So diagnostics on Wednesday & perhaps a recharge after.

I'm also getting an anti collision braking system error too, along with start stop not working (although lighting the light in the tachometer), but as it cuts the power off in 5-10 mins when not driving I'm guessing the battery needs swapped before winter.

Fuel consumption is silly, got over 80mpg on a 25 mile run while taking it easy, but doesn't feel like "120" (118) bhp in a light car.

The 17" wheel ride seems a bit hard, would swapping to older 16" let more common 205/55 R16 tyres fit?

Lastly there's a DS3 forum, but it's not letting me register. I'm sure there's folk from there here too who can hopefully fix this.

Hi and welcome.

If you want a factory build sheet, main component change intervals, oil spec, and future official part number requests / diagram, then it may be worth you considering a membership upgrade - see below:

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.
A response to your question by a Forum Admin requiring parts or specific vehicle information requires you
to have made a current contribution
(Min. £10 / €11.48 or equivalent) to the Forum.

Ideally for diagnostics you should consider a Lexia 3 kit with Diagbox which requires a laptop to use.
Haynes do provide DS3 manuals now online or downloadable PDFs.

Link here, just select your model:

Thanks

I've Planet Peugeot 2000 from my 406 coupe, and as I recall it was set up by first installing Lexia

Never got round to using it, so am unaware if it works.
