Do I understand correctly that I have to remove the battery to access the filter? I can't access it via the box on the passenger seat?GiveMeABreak wrote: 29 Jul 2024, 11:02GORAX wrote: 29 Jul 2024, 10:43 Hi,
Where exactly is the cabin filter located? I want to change him.

Re: C4 Picasso II Pollen Cabin Filter
On your vehicle the pollen filter is accessed from within the cabin: See this step by step video for a left hand drive vehicle:

It's much easier on a Left hand drive car then it is on a Right hand drive!!!

It makes changing the matrix easy on a RH drive car
TBH it's easier on a MK2 than it was on a MK1 manual

I have no idea of the exact figures but it wouldn't surprise me that an awful lot of those models never get the pollen filter changed!

Have just done the filters on ours - in the parts thread Gorax you asked about the connector for the footwell light, so I took a picture. It may be there tucked away on the dash structure.

Much prefer these LHD than the 00's-10's Ford/Volvos that you need to remove the throttle pedal to get at the filter (in LHD form, presumably easier on an RHD).Paul-R wrote: 30 Jul 2024, 13:42 I have no idea of the exact figures but it wouldn't surprise me that an awful lot of those models never get the pollen filter changed!
My grandmas 2004 Renault Scenic wasn't fun either, supposedly horrible on an RHD car as the master cylinder is in the way..
I have various repair handbooks and wiring diagrams for C5 mk1, Xantia, XM, Berlingo and C3 mk1.
I have Lexia/Diagbox (Sweden) and Servicebox/sedre

I refuse to believe that someone thought it acceptable for this to be the way to change the cabin filter.

Re: C4 Picasso II Pollen Cabin Filter
It seems to me that Citroen have gone from the superb to the ridiculous. When Jim bought his C3 Picasso it seemed to have poor air in flow, so Jim requested the pollen filter be changed before he took it away. The salesman was able to get the new filter from the stores and I popped it in, via the scuttle while Jim sorted the paperwork. Possibly the easiest pollen filter to change I've ever found so it seems very odd that the C4 Picasso is so damned awkward!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: C4 Picasso II Pollen Cabin Filter
It is almost as bad as my Megane Mk3 (RHD) where you have to remove part of the centre consul, most of the lower dash driver side, so you can get to the clutch pedal, remove the clutch pedal carefully making sure you don't disturb the hydraulic line (not easy, believe me) push it to one side you can then just about get to the cover where the pollen lives behind, remove it and wiggle the new one in, then carefully replace the clutch pedal.
Had the car 6 years now I changed it when I first bought it, it was black, haven't done it since, one of the techs that work in my place is ex-Renault and he said most times they never fit them, they are so difficult and you are given no where near enough time for them so its chucked into the bin. he did mine and it took 3/4 of an hour for a pollen filter, but as he said it what could go wrong with the clutch pedal and you could easily end up with a nightmare job, just for a pollen, left hookers are fine, no pedal on that side just pop put the glove box I believe.
To be honest never understood why you need a pollen filter in a convertible, seems rather pointless most of the time.
308's are in the scuttle as well super easy to change, oil and fuel a little more challenging than the 307 but still looking at you, Megane fuel under the wheel arch and awkward to get to the connectors, oil HA! they give you a cut out on the subframe (thanks) then fill it with A/C and coolant pipes making the cut out rather pointless and filling your sleeves with old oil as you fight to get the blinking filter out.

I recall fun and games with my friend's Megane convertible, I had to take the front bumper half off just to change a headlight bulb!!
