Citoren c3 2003 temperature sensor
I have a Citroen C3 from 2003. Last December, I had a fault with the lower blue temperature sensor and ended up unplugging it as a quick fix. I intended to get a new one but never got around to it. Recently, I've had more problems with the cooling system and want to replace the sensor, but I can't confidently find the part number. Would anyone be able to help?

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.

Re: Citoren c3 2003 temperature sensor
Replacing that sensor wont fix your problem. It's normally open circuit. I'm not saying don't replace it, I'm just saying replacing it wont do anything.
It's a cylinder head over temperature switch. It monitors the cylinder head temp of the No1 cylinder. If the temp goes over 120'C it shorts out the main temperature sensor and that gives an over temp warning.
It's actually called a low coolant level switch. Which is sort of right...but not really.
It DOES NOT go into the coolant passage, so the sensor can be replaced WITHOUT draining the coolant.
What is the problem that you are having?
