2014 Citroen dispatch grinding noise

Unread post by Monger »

Just done the cv boots and now with the car jacked up and no wheels when I put it in gear and press the throttle it makes a grinding bucking type sound,
Can't figure out where it is, I filled the transmission back up after. Only things changed was the boots.

In gear at idle it makes no sound only with throttle

When I press on the throttle the left side drive shaft is stopping\skipping???? What causes this, does it need to be on its wheels?

Are you sure it's properly seated in the diff, and you haven't sprung the CV joint apart? It should drive quietly even with the wheels off.

My right hand side one did separate as I couldn't get the other half out but both seem to be in. as far as I can see they are all in place when, I spin them by hand it doesn't make the noise.

I can see any obvious gaps left hand is flush with the diff right seems to be OK also
