c5 x7 anti pollution fault

Unread post by Agour »

Hi all,

I had the dreaded anti pollution fault flash up the other day.

Stayed on for 20 minutes - then I left the car for an hour or two.. and hasn't been back since.

Finally got a lexia and plugged it in, but I can't seem to find the fault code for it.

I found a few other codes - but nothing that should be related?

Any ideas where to find it in the software?

Thanks!

That's in the BSI, you need to look in the engine ECU.

I guess that would be "engine relay unit"?

I can't see anything else labeled with engine

Once in Diagbox and it's read the VIN click on fault finding and then let it do a global scan. The engine ECU is usually the second one in the list, may be called injection or something like that. If you post up a pic of the global scan results, we can tell you which it is.

Got it, thanks! :)

2 faults under the injectors, presume it must be p1166 that caused the anti pollution fault?

I can't help but I just noticed all your fault values (bar for example) compared to mine which had the same fault - we must be related LOL

The faults are at least for now, intermittent, so I'd just clear those down and see how things pan out.

When did you last change the diesel fuel filter?
Don't run the fuel tank too low.
I'd also suggest getting some fuel system cleaner in for the next few tank-fulls and that should give the fuel system a clean, or start using some premium diesel for a while.

thanks, will do!

I haven't swapped it, car is new to me.

It was full main dealer service history - so I imagine it was done at most intervals.

But I'll do it soon to make sure :)

Will get the cleaner in the tank too, thanks!

Fuel filters are like Cabin Filters.....officially/allegedly.

After "getting into" my C5x7 (years ago) that had a full dealer service history I will NEVER trust a Main Dealer service record OR that the work they did was done or IF it was, that it was done correctly/safely (missing suspension bolts etc)
