Thank you.
I've checked and I appear to have Tank A (square one)
What is the difference between the two available part numbers for tank A?
New Original OEM Tank, replacement part number: 1682619980, £1022.04
Standard Exchange Urea Tank, part: 1682615480, £817.63
Which one should I be going for?
C4 Picasso - Adblue Tank Replacement

Re: Citroen, DS Automobiles and Peugeot Official Part Number Requests
Basically, the more expensive one is a brand new OEM original unused one. The cheaper one is for a used / reconditioned one that has been repaired.
There's one here (New) for £620 inc delivery...

I have a procedure for a different engine which may help, let me know if you want me to write it up.

Re: Citroen, DS Automobiles and Peugeot Official Part Number Requests
Thank you.
Definitely a brand new one, don't want to risk a reconditioned one having the same issue in a few 1000 miles
Thanks - I had seen that one when checking out the part numbers for prices.
Yes please - any write-up for anything that will help me would be greatly appreciated - at least I won't be going in blind then.
All the wiring harnesses and pipes appear to all be located in one area, but on top of the tank, so a delicate lowering down would be needed.
Thank you

Does the firmware need updating on this vehicle after fitting a new tank?

No - all controlled by engine ECU and that won't change with the replacement of the tank.

Just need to reinitialise the denox system (there are 2 options of either denox catalyst or denox tank - so it is the denox tank option) via Diagbox under the repair pack section for replacement tank - so the system knows that a new tank has been fitted. (You use the same procedure to clear engine fault caused by tank fault in meantime too)Paul-R wrote: 28 May 2024, 17:32 Does the firmware need updating on this vehicle after fitting a new tank?

I've split this out of the Parts thread into a separate topic.

I'm aware of this procedure and have used it myself in the past. No, what I'm talking about is when a new Adblue tank is fitted and this comes with the specific instruction that the firmware needs updating to make use of internal changes in the tank. This is normally a dealer job as it requires connecting to the PSA servers in France.danlat1415 wrote: 28 May 2024, 21:37Just need to reinitialise the denox system (there are 2 options of either denox catalyst or denox tank - so it is the denox tank option) via Diagbox under the repair pack section for replacement tank - so the system knows that a new tank has been fitted. Which is what I had to have done when a new tank was fitted to our 2015 BlueHdi 308.

Re: C4 Picasso - Adblue Tank Replacement
Just to update this thread;
The Wynn's adblue cleaner appears to have worked it's way through the system now and has fully cleaned the issue.
I had adblue fault on dash, then engine fault - repair needed.
I cleared these with diagbox (happened twice over 2 weeks)
I also put my OLD black topped adblue cap back on (as a precaution ), and now the issues have fully gone.
It's been a couple of weeks and over 700 miles and no warnings have come back at all.
I'll put the newer white cap filler cap back on soon and see if that causes the issue to return.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Wynn's adblue Crystal Clean and Protect.
A £7 bottle is a lot cheaper than an £800+ replacement tank.
Give it a go, and keep resetting the faults until it's had time to work through the system and clear any issues.
It's definitely worth a go before going for a full replacement.
Even buying diagbox system is worth it too.

Re: C4 Picasso - Adblue Tank Replacement
I had already bought the replacement tank - but thankfully I was able to return it and get a full refund
