Citroen C5 X7 RHD blower motor location

Hi I need to replace my blower motor my 2015 Citoren c5 exclusive RHD. I am wanting to check location of blower motor. If I remove glove box can I get access to the blower Motor?

Are you sure it is the blower motor you need to replace? Only it is 99% the Blower Motor Control Module that needs replacing if you are having issues with the fan speed on all or nothing.

It was not working replaced the control module and was working again but was away for two weeks and didn’t drive the car and it has stopped working again so I’m assuming the fan has now gone.

Well sort of...

Moisture builds up when the system is left over time when non-operational that causes the bearings to stick. The Blower Motor Control Module is designed to slowly spin up the motor. When the bearings start to 'stick' this can result in the motor appearing to fail as the BMCM doesn't supply enough power at the start to get it going.

If you carry on using the car (if safe to do so), and as the temperature warms up it should start working again. I would leave the climate on AUTO and set the temperate and leave it.

With AUTO on, the A/C will be operating all the time to help clear the moisture out of the air.

It really is going to be a bit of a battle if you want to get the motor out, so try the above and see if it comes back to life.

A tip in future is just to set the temperature and leave it on AUTO, to prevent moisture build up and prevent this happening. I mostly see this with here with owners that have the Climate control off or the A/C off and this causes most of these issues.

I always have it set to auto an 20-22 degrees It is not running at all tho so dunno if u it would dry out. You think leave it turned on to 20 and it will come back on?

I'd just give it a little more time to free itself up after that period of non-use.

You may also want to consider a BSI reset too, just to rule out any electrical glitches:

If it's no better after a few more days of use, and you can't wait then it maybe the blower motor replacement is the way to go, but one more thing:- if you replaced the blower motor control unit, did you replace it with a known good brand? It's well-known that cheap Chinese knock offs can be dead on arrival or just wont work.

Use a good branded one like Valeo, BEHR or Fibi Bilstein. I wouldn't want you to go through the pain of replacing the blower if the BMCM was the fault.

Fair enough, as long as it wasn't a fake £20 unit, you should be able to have confidence in it assuming the correct part number. So I suggest giving it a while longer to see if it will restart itself, but if the bearings have been sitting in a high degree of moisture over the 2 week period of non-use, they may be too seized to budge.

We seem to have forgotten about suggesting the wire bridging test on the connecting plug onto the blower controller. As well as proving whether the motor is working or not it can break the 'stiction' that builds up on the motor. I did this (quite) a few years ago and I haven't had to do it since. I'm still on my factory fitted original although I do still carry the link around and the car just in case.
