Hello,
I have recently bought a C4 Spacetourer. Last night while travelling home someone pulled up beside me to say my bumper was hanging off. I pulled over to check what was going on.
It seemed that the section at the back which covers the exhaust and holds the rear parking sensors was hanging down. I managed to push it back in to a point but it still isn't flush with the rest of the car.
The question is how much pressure would I need to put it back on correctly or would it be a body shop work to help get it back in place correctly?
Thanks

Obviously the bumper itself is secured in place by bolts so is likely to be the proximity sensor support trim. Without a photo it's hard to know what part you are referring to, but may be that somebody has been in there doing something - is this a brand new vehicle or second hand? I'd have it checked as if the supports are compromised, they will need replacing or it will be coming off again and you may be liable if it flies off into another vehicle. I don't think it's a matter of pushing it on, but of checking the supporting trims and their fixings.

Attached a pic (excuse the dirt)
It is where the parking sensors are so it was the electrics holding it up so I'm not sure it will fly off but it may come loose again.

I don't know the car but usually these small trims are only held in place by tanged bits if plastic, like a barb. Probably been removed in the past (with a screwdriver, poorly) and they've got damaged. I've got the same issue on the missus' C4 where the side of the front bumper 'clips' into slots in the wing. A bit of mastic will do the job or try and source a replacement...that isn't already damaged.

In this case, the obstacle sensor support called the rear bumper skirt (the lower part in your picture that holds the sensors) is held in by 2 bolts from the underside. These screw into the bumper angleplates. So either the screw (s) are missing or the surrounds of the trim are cracked and therefore not being secured.

It looks like it could be pushed in a little bit more. It's whether it would be a risk trying to push. But obviously don't want to push too hard to create a dent.
I'll have a look underneath tomorrow to see what the score is. Are they normal type of screw or something more specific?

I can help here, I was checking the bumper brackets a few months ago and took photos. I was considering replacing the bolts as they seem to be rust prone parts.
But basically a bracket is attached to the chassis and bolt onto the bumper. In that picture the black plastic tab the bold goes through is the inside bottom edge of the bumper.
Not sure what the part number is or where to order them from.
I assume yours may have either come loose or rusted off or the tabs have snapped.
This was a more rusted one. This is looking down at the bracket as if I was inside the bumper while reaching underneath with my other hand.
They can take an impact though, I had an audi drive into the back of me a few weeks ago. Cracked his front bumper/grill and just left scratches on my bumper.
