Citroen C1 2018 maintenance (10K kilometers)

Unread post by Lecit »

Hello,

It's time for my Citroen's C1 10K maintenance.
It's the manual version (998cc engine)

The cars handbook maintenance section doesn't provide actual information about the types of oils, they write to "Refer to the manufacturer's service schedule".

I need to replace both engine oil and coolant.

Do you know what type of oil and coolant I need?

Also, the authorized Citroen garage at my area said I might need to also replace the engine filters - what is this? And is it really necessary at 60K kilometers?

Thanks!

For the C1 which is a collaborative vehicle (essentially a Toyota Aygo) you need Glysantin G70 Antifreeze for the coolant. These vehicles do not take the standard PSA coolant as they are not really Citroen or Peugeot vehicles.

If you want the correct oil to use I'll need you to post your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Marc, thank you. The vin is the number on the metal plate on the door side? If so, is there any other way to do it for now? Because my car is parked quite far 😅
Out of curiosity, does it mean that even for the same model of a car, I can have different oils? i.e. the 2018 Citroen C1 manual 998cc can have different engine oils?

The engine oil is specific to the engine fitted, so I need to know the VIN to determine the exact recommendation provided by Citroen. The VIN is usually on the lower left corner of the windshield, on the vehicle Log / registration document (in the UK) or on various places in the engine bay. It begins With 'V' 'F' '7'.

Marc thank you! I got the engine model, it's 1KR-FE.
I read that starting from 2018, the engine was changed to 1KR-B52. Does it mean my Citroen is not really a 2018 model?

That's no help, I need the VIN, then I can then tell you the build date and the correct oil.

These are Toyota engines, because they are based on the AYGO with only cosmetic changes to make them Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107. They have had several facelifts and changes over the years until the collaboration was cancelled for 2021 for Peugeot and Citroen.

So depending on the vehicle, you may have a Toyota or a PSA engine (as some later models had PSA engines fitted).

Marc I'm sorry for bothering, but by the time I went to check in the car (I work from home, I don't go to the car too often these days xD), they answered me quickly on the phone and gave me the oil information. It is 05W30 B71 2297

No problem. As long as you are happy with that. I only check directly from the VIN to be 100% accurate.

Is there an accessible database that I can also check? Or you are working for Citroen? Btw, I assume they also used the VIN because I contacted the authorized Citroen seller from which I bought the car and they have that information I think because they immediately found it by me giving them the plate number only

We don't use plate numbers and we use the official same database as Citroen.

I can provide basic things like your oil spec, but for parts data and parts diagram requests, we can help if you need an original, genuine part number or part diagram, and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.
