Clutch pedal to floor - DS5 HDI Sport 2013

Unread post by Cupra to DS5 »

Hi,
Car broke down last night on rush hour when the clutch pedal dropped to the floor

Had the RAC out and they recovered me to a local garage who have been trying to fix it today

Looks like it is the pipe in front of the slave cylinder that goes to the bleed nipple and the pipe has lost two small circlips that hold it together meaning the clutch fluid is spraying out as soon as the clutch is pressed

Pic attached, fluid coming out where the yellow box is highlighted

Does anyone know if these circlips can be obtained on their own or do I need the whole new part? Garage says that is a special order from Citroen if I can't get the clips?

Aaaaagh!

I've just suffered a similar issue. Was slowing down for a roundabout when I dipped the clutch, I heard a massive crack and my pedal just stuck to the floor. On the petrol versions it seems the clutch master cylinder protrudes through the bulkhead with a PLASTIC LINKAGE!. that's right plastic... why on earth would you make such a vital component that has to deal with decently high forces from plastic. A new cylinder is around £45. I plan on replacing it myself. Seriously upset with the design though. If you have a petrol 1.4 or 1.6 I'd have a look at the linkage as it's visible in the pedal box and make sure it's not cracked. could be dangerous if you're in stop start traffic.
