Hi, I'm actively looking for a c4 GP to replace our fiat Multipla(!). IS there an easy way to check which transmission they have? I definitely don't want an EGS type (after many skinned knuckles on a C2 sensodrive...). Can one tell from the VIN number? For example: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
I recently drove a 2009 2.0 HDi that I thought would have had the EGS, but it was the conventional auto. I have a 308 with the EAT6 trans, and it's really good IMHO.
I understood that the Mk2 GP didn't get the EAT6 until the 2016 facelift, but there seem to be some around.
Thanks

Re: C4 Grand picasso transmission ID
The above vehicle has a fully automatic AM6 MK III transmission, (EAT6), so a proper Auto gearbox with torque converter and not a robotised manual.

One more trans check please: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]...can you confirm it's not automated manual? Hoping to purchase it this weekend!
Pretty sure this will be AM6 as it's 2016 year. Thanks, Jason

Full auto
If you can see an interior picture you can check for EGS or full auto by the selector - there is no P position on the EGS one.
