Citroen c5x7 with hydro-pneumatic suspension.
When turning the steering wheel left (even slightly) while the car is moving, a continuous squweel sound appears (similar to what a cricket makes...) , it stops when going back straight (when turning right it doesn't happen as well).
The serpentine belt is new, the pulleys seem ok (not loosened), the LDS is fresh, it happens at evry hight as well, Wishbones seem healthy
I am out of ideas.
Any idea will be welcomed.

First of all power steering fluid, secondly Anti roll link rod bar.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

As mentioned, LDS (power steering fluid) is fresh.
I doubt it is the link, doesn't sound like a metallic friction sound.

I know but I've had the same thing, if it's only on the left then it's worth a check

Re: Citroen c5x7 squeaky noises while turning left
@508c5: Be advised that there is no belt linked to the power steering on this model, it has the electro pump, so operated directly from the battery.
The only thing I can suggest is one of the power steering pipes at the steering rack near the pinion. Check to see if there is any fluid leaking from this area from under the car (but don't get underneath without supporting the vehicle independently as suspension can drop suddenly and crush) and see of there is a puddle on the ground or a slow leak from the high pressure pipe.
(1) is the High pressure pipe, (2) is the low pressure pipe.
If it was the accessories belt, I would expect this to squeal a little regardless of turning the steering wheel.

Re: Citroen c5x7 squeaky noises while turning left
Thanks
Agreed and i know the steering pump isn't independent of the serpentine belt. No evident leak.
I thought maybe the link in the following link might be cause

Re: Citroen c5x7 squeaky noises while turning left
Can't see how as this is just the body height link rod, so if it was squeaking it would be doing it all the time the car rises and lowers when driving. It's independent of the steering.

Re: Citroen c5x7 squeaky noises while turning left
Thanks
In my previous quote isn't was supposed to be is.
The fact that it happens only when steering left is most confusing with regard to the pipes you suggested as well - same pressure (i would think..) is applied when turning left, as well as right, so why would they squeal only in one direction? Is this prone to politics as well..

Re: Citroen c5x7 squeaky noises while turning left
Have you considered that this noise could be coming from one of the discs, caused by a small piece of road grit getting lodged somewhere.
A bit of detective work with one then the other window open to indicate which side of the car the noise is coming from.
Does the noise happen in reverse?
Can you hear the noise under various braking conditions?
Maybe get (left then right) wheels off the ground and rotate them by hand to listen for an odd sound. REMEMBER TO SET THE RIDE HEIGHT TO MAXIMUM and
do not allow yourself to get anywhere under the car.
Hope that helps.
Andy.

Re: Citroen c5x7 squeaky noises while turning left
I've had something like that, on left turn only.
It was low LDS level.

Do you have the part number for pipe number 3 in the sketch?
Thanks
