risk of particle filter clogging - berlingo van

Post by hofhomer »

Good afternoon all, and thank you in advance for any support offered.

I recently purchased a 2012 citroen berling van. On refuelling for the first time I received the following message "risk of particle filter clogging". I've got a copy of diagbox and the diagnostics cable. On global test, I'm getting additive multiplexed pump - ecu not recognised. In the ECU I'm getting P1434 and P1435. Ive tried adding a replacement pump in the engine ecu, and you can clearly hear a ticking sound from the additive pump. I've not tried to delete the codes yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated into the correct steps I need to follow. Diagbox version 7.62. Also been inspected by my own mechanic, who says the tank looks new and confirmed its full of liquid.

Risk of clogging means it been driven nicely, to nicely. You need to 'rag' it. It'll need to get up to temperature to clean the DPF as it were.

Haha, when you just spend a few ££££ you tend to drive steady. But what about the faults with the multiplexed pump? Would it be worth trying to delete the codes in diagbox? Also why does diagbox say ECU not recognised?

7.62 is what I use on my 06 plate, I'd imagine you'd need to upgrade that as yours is a 12 plate

Delete the codes and see what comes back...

A little update. Connected diagbox and gone into the ECU followed by repair, replacement parts, pack repair. Then selected replacement of the additive tank, pump or pipes. When I switched the ignition on I could hear the pump. Tried to delete the codes, after entering mileage. Says not enough memory? Codes come straight back after a minute. Am I missing something?

You can't delete faults magically - if there is an underlying issue it needs to be investigated or the faults will just come back - that's what they are designed to do.
