Citroën Relay Exhaust Leak

Hello.

I have some sort of exhaust leak in my van. When stationary fumes come into the cab via the battery tray.

Code reader says 5th injector atomiser which I’ll have a look at shortly.

When I took it to my local garage they said the turbo needs replacing. Looking underneath there does seem to be a lot of soot on the turbo exhaust manifold but before I jump in and replace the turbo does anyone have any other suggestions?

Also, I have read it’s far better to buy a recon oem turbo rather than new non oem one. Does anyone know any good refurbished sellers?

From inspection, I imagine I need to remove sub frame, disconnect, remove turbo and refit. Oil change and filters whilst I’m at it?

On what basis did the garage diagnose that the turbo needed replacing? What tests did they do?

They didn't actually say. It's a local small garage and it was the guy's wife who I spoke to because the main guy had gone home. Is there anything I can do to test? When driving, I can view the pressure via my OBD ready and it changes when I accelerate. I wouldn't say the van feels particularly sluggish but I haven't driven any others to compare.

I have the same issue with my 2019 2.0 fuel economy is poor too. Did you ever resolve this?
