Xsara Picasso Rear axle

Hi everyone,

I need to replace the rear axle on my old Picasso, it's a 2003 model 2.0 HDI.

I have been looking online at getting a refurbished axle as I don't want to source one from a scrappy, there seem to be many websites in my country (France) and over in the UK who refurbish and sell these axles and they all mention the same thing, that their axles are compatible with all models of Picasso. Now I know there are some models with drum brakes and others with discs and different engine sizes and fuel types. So my question is, is this true? If I buy one of these axles, is it going to be compatible with my car?

The website that was recommended to me is: https://www.imaxle.co.uk/xsara-picasso-all-models and it mentions nothing about if this axle came from a car with drums or discs and just says it will fit any model.

I just don't want to go buying something that I'm not sure about. So if there is anyone here who knows about these axles I would be grateful of some help. The part number I found on my cars axle is 9634 838

There is a crossmember torsion bar and then there are the rear arm hubs & bearings.

If it's the rear torsion bar, then if you have normal suspension (not heavy duty suspension) then it is the same for all models.
