Citroen C5 X7 Hydractive Front Left Strut Leaking

Hi, lads! A couple of days ago, as the title states, my front left strut started leaking, therefore I'm looking forward to changing it ASAP. Most of my local shops would charge me roughly 450 Euros for the part itself and replacement, thus I am leaning towards buying the part myself off eBay and then take it to a local garage to replace it. I have used catcar.info in order to get the exact part number for my car by the aid of VIN, and it came up as 5271 L5, however the cheapest option that I found on eBay comes with part number 5271J9 5271K5. I was wondering, would it still fit my car if it requires 5271 L5? The item is listed as - "Hydraative strut shock absorber front left for Citroen C5 III C6 5271J9 5271K5" - so I suppose there should not be any problems whatsoever, but still I do not want to buy anything that would not fit my car, as I do not have plenty of time to fix it. To me, they look absolutely identical, however I'm not sure on the connectors, if there are any differences. Many thanks!

That is the superseded part now (5271L5), but beware that catcar.info is 10 years out date - it's not live data as PSA don't supply them - they're using an old offline backup of the database from 2014! Note there are no later vehicles......

Hi, Marc! Many thanks for your reply and info regarding catcar, I was not aware that it was this outdated. I double checked with the guys from the garage where they had a look on the car and they have also informed me that this should be part number - 5271 L5. Would you have any advice on whether I should buy that part or not? Are the newer ones better in terms of reliability? Furthermore, would you reckon that it could fit my car? Also, would be of a great help if you had any idea of other websites such as catcar.info where I could look up part numbers for my car based on VIN as I am also planning to replace my central console, some trims, basically some bits and bobs. Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, but I've been browsing the internet like crazy for the past few days just to get this info.

I just made a typo - so have corrected my last post: 5271L5 is the superseded number, sorry about that.
