Unread post by MattSVK »

Hello there,

I am seeking another help to fix fault that is always coming back after deleting ...

U1802 (error in vehicle speed signal - invalid data received)

Everything is working fine like speed on the DashBoard computer and HeadUp Display so I really don't know where to look to fix this fault. Any ideas where to look ?? Thank You in advance.

What car have you got ? This sort of fault could be one of your sensor rings worn more than another .

Could it be possible that the parking sensors are or have somehow gone to earth ?

Hi Matt,

I occasionally have this error and a BSI error regarding the immobiliser not unlocking - though I've never noticed an actual problem with either.

Did you find what was causing your error?

Shot in the dark, when was the cam belt changed ? Is or are the pick up reluctor ring on the bottom pulley gear ok or the crank sensor not breaking down , my theory this detects the spinning of the engine, maybe if these are at fault then it could possibly make another sensor look like its breaking down when really it isnt , just a theory, some of my theory's have for me sometimes giving the answer. It might not be your issue but just thought id pop my head thought here.

Good suggestion, though if there was a fault with the device which detects vehicle speed, I would expect lots of other errors including ABS and ESP which I assume also depend on vehicle speed data.
