Rd45 callers name problem

Unread post by 156er »

Hi guys,

The factory rd45 radio does not show the callers name, when somebody calling me. After I press “yes”, on the display I can see the name of the caller, as it saved in my phonebook….

But I dont know before, I wanna answer or not.. :))
Originaly was a rd4 in the van. I swaped it to a rd45+screen type c.

Berilngo 2010 Van.

Thanks any help!!!

Maybe your phone does not allow the RD45 to read the phone book or get the caller ID?

It could be an incompatible phone.or maybe phone settings.

Has the display ever worked in the manner that you want?

Try removing the paired telephone (completely) from the RD45 and also delete the bluetooth connection from the phone.

When you re-pair them again, pay special attention to the phone privacy settings to allow the RD45 access to your contacts. If you don't do this, you won't get any contact information displayed. The issue is likely to be that your smartphone is much newer than the RD45, so has more privacy settings to check when connecting.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Hy,
In the Diagbox, on the list of the begining, “Multifunction display- unknow device”, why is that?!

The display works great, it seems the BSI can not recognize the display. The van is a 2010 model, the second hand display is 2014, could it be the problem?

Thanks for you help… it makes ne crazy😂🤦???

Because the van is old enough that it shouldn't have that type C display so diagbox doesn't recognise it properly - elsewhere you'll still see mentions of RD4 (eg in the BSI config)

When you access it in diagnostics, you will be given the chance to choose which type it is. Pick Type C Dot Matrix.

This probably has no bearing on your actual problem though, and I too suspect your phone is the root cause.

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, it is only rd4, I can’t see rd45 nowhere.

There is 3-4 diferent options for the display, I can chose “Type_C?”, but nothing changes.

I can’t see any options in the phone, so have no idea what else can I modify.

Thank you!!🙂

Is there any option, to update the BSI?
At the local Citroen dealer maybe?
