Hello there,
Apologies if wrong sub-forum. Had a look and found this posting - Citroen c5 x7 front brake pad sensor (viewtopic.php?t=58842) but doesn't answer my specific problem.
Just over a year ago I had the front brake pads replaced, everything was fine until a year later the brake pad worn warning cropped up. I presume the rear pads were in need of attention. However, the garage reported that all pads are okay, and that the loom to the N/S front brakes was damaged. (as mentioned on here no loom on the O/S front)
Had a look, as best one can, the pad that were fitted don't appear to have the wear sensor fitted, thus there isn't the cable (No.12 in a diagram in the above referenced posting) from the brake pads to the connector on the suspension strut.
Therefore, the connector at the end of the wiring loom, that is mounted on the suspension strut was exposed to the elements and degraded, finally I suspect some 'off-roading' to give an Ambulance space, sealed the fate of the loom, which has now departed company from the connector on the mounted on the suspension strut.
So, I'm looking to ... either ....
1) Isolate / join etc, the wires in the loom so that the warning 'goes away' (i.e. make the ECU think the pads are not worn). [Yes, not ideal, but happy to monitor pad wear manually, like in the good old days!].
2) Replace the loom - For which, be lovely to know a part number. I can see that it vanished into the engine bay, any ideas where it re-emerges and is it easy to replace?
You advice and tips most welcome.
