Diagbox BSI Access to this function not enabled
Hi, I want to do manual telecoding in the original diagbox which is activated for one week for my VIN. When I want to do manual telecoding of the BSI, I get the following error: "Access to this function not enabled.". I just can read the current configuration / telecoding parameters. I did try other ECUs and there the manual telecoding is working. What is the problem? How can i solve it? Thank you and best regards.

What are you using to interrogate the car? If Diagbox, what version?

Re: Diagbox BSI Access to this function not enabled
It will only work with Diagbox V9.** given this will be a 2017or later vehicle and the BSI may be in secure mode given the role the BSI plays in the vehicle's operation and safety.
What are you trying to achieve?

Re: Diagbox BSI Access to this function not enabled
I wanted to disable a Telematik option in the BSI because it started with an error from the radio that there is no communication between the NAC and the telematik over usb. My car does not have Telematik but for some reason in the BSI there is an option set that a button under the steering wheel on the left side should trigger the function Telematik. In my radio NAC there was also an option set that I have telematik. I disabled it but I still get an error from the radio that the communication between the NAC and Telematik is disabled. I thought that maybe I have to disable it also in the BSI, to remove the error from the radio. At least I see there an option with a button which is set to Telematik in the BSI. But as I said, I don't have an SOS button. My diagbox version is v09.146. I can do manual telecoding on different ECUs but not on the BSI. The car is a Grandland X (3008) from 2017 / 2018.

I think you may be getting confused?
1) There is the Connected NAV Telematic Unit for vehicle features and navigation / radio etc.
2) There may also be an independent Telematic Unit fitted. This one will be fitted if you have the SOS / Emergency call / Opel or Vauxhall buttons. It is important not to disable this as it also contacts emergency services in the event of a serious impact and gives geolocation information.
If you have an issue with your USB cable connecting to the Head Unit, that is a separate issue and will be either a faulty USB device, USB cable or it has damaged the Head Unit through connection of cheap aftermarket cables that can cause an over-voltage situation.
Your BSI will be configured correctly from factory. Not everything in there is what you think it is from the description. In other words, certain things have to be left enabled regardless if you think it is fitted ort not, as it probably means something totally different to what you think it does.
Obviously I can't be more help as this is a Crossland X, so I can't look up your vehicle specifics to check if you should have an independent telematics unit. But I strongly suggest you be very careful of what you are disabling and write everything down as to what you have done - as you can't undo it without configuring the options back. I've see a few people brick their cars because of this and that's why the BSI may be more protected.

Re: Diagbox BSI Access to this function not enabled
The NAC should be connected to the telematik battery, which is in my case behind the speedometer by a green cable. It is a USB communication. My NAC has not a outgoing green cable. I also checked the VIN of my Grandland X in the Peugeot Service Box. Looking at the parts. There is not a telematik battery mentioned which should be installed. So, Service Box parts says there is no Telematik battery installed, there is no green usb cable outgoing of the NAC and I don't have a SOS button. I even can not connect to a NAV Telematic Unit by Diagbox and not by GDS2. I don't have such a thing and still the radio thinks there is a connection needed.
As I saw, even when you do a wrong manual telematic configuration, you will be always be able to do a automatic telecoding with the original Diagbox. Diagbox is always doing a automatic telecoding before it shows the manual telecoding button. Which is in my case for some reason deactivated for the BSI. The automatic telecoding is downloading the settings for this VIN from the Peugeot server.

Usually Independent Telematic units have a built-in backup battery for emergencies as I mentioned and can look like this:
If you have access to Service Box parts, then look under the left hand column (usually third option down for 'Characteristics'). Expand all sections, but under 'interior fittings' look for mention of a telematic unit there. It should tell you what you have.

Ok so you don't have an independent telematic unit, but the NAC Head Unit would not be connected to a separate battery. It is just powered from the main car battery.
It may be that you have wiring there for a telematic unit, but it is not fitted.
