Hi everyone,
I have driven my 2001 Citroen C15 from the south of Spain to the UK and the input bearing on the gearbox is noisy.
I would like to replace the gearbox before I travel back but am having some difficulty's finding a matching replacement.
Is there any difference between a gearbox on the 1.9D and other Citroen C15s?
My Vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] registered 30th Oct 2001 in Spain.
The Vin on some ebay listings for gearboxes is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Would any of these gearboxes fit or does it have to be specific?
Any help much appreciated!
p.s this is my first french car and I really like it!

Re: C15 gearbox help
It seems my gearbox is an obscure fitment in the Uk - Any help really appreciated - I have found these codes on my gearbox but they seem to match to a Peugeot?

Re: C15 gearbox help
I think that box is fitted to a variety of PSA vehicles with the 1.9 engine, BXs 205s and 306s come to mind, the problem may be finding one with the appropriate ratios.

Unfortunately there is very little data on this, as some older vehicles like the C15 have very little electronic data available given the age.

On my gearbox I have this tag code 3727025A is there any reason a different tag code from a C15 wouldn't fit and work okay?GiveMeABreak wrote: 26 Apr 2023, 22:36 Unfortunately there is very little data on this, as some older vehicles like the C15 have very little electronic data available given the age.
It's the 20TE11 gearbox

Re: C15 gearbox help
Sound advice would be that you match up the codes from your existing gearbox to a donor.

Or repair your own box, not too difficult if it's only bearing noise, bearings are cheap enough if you shop around the specialists.GiveMeABreak wrote: 27 Apr 2023, 08:54 Sound advice would be that you match up the codes from your existing gearbox to a donor.
