Hi all,
My daughters 2013 DS4 2.0 hdi sport, to give it its full title as she says is a great little car but some recent issues are causing doubts.
Her windscreen washer stopped, cruise control is intermittent and the aircon isn't working just yesterday. I checked and flushed the aircon system and leak tested, all OK so refilled.
As I had seen before on this, the fuse box BSM is badly corroded with every fuse having white power on the fuse legs I cleaned them as best I could, cleared codes thereafter with just a cheap code reader but the aircon isn't working.
The fuse box bsm had 9677987180 on it. My question is, if I locate another bsm with the black, brown and blue connectors, is it a plug and play job ? Has this 9677987180 bsm been superceded with another number ? I see online some bsm units are very similar but I don't want to risk it for her.
Thanks for any help received.

Re: 2013 DS4 fuse box
A few things you need to be aware of. On the DS4, the engine fusebox may actually need to be configured (unlike many other models), so it may not simply be a matter of replacing it.
I can tell you the part number you have provided has been superseded. So you may still need to have the replacement configured at a dealer or somewhere that can do this.
If you need an original, genuine part number or part diagram, and can't already find the info you need on the Forum, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.
If interested, links are below, then pop your VIN up.

Re: 2013 DS4 fuse box
That great. I'm here in Ireland so I'll try to source one locally. Am I right in thinking that a donor bsm with the same number will also need to be coded to the car or is it just new units that haven't been programed yet ? As said before, the fuses on this one are all white powder on the fuse legs. Is this a problem with the updated bsm due to metal combinations, or was it due to water contamination I wonder. Thanks again.

Re: 2013 DS4 fuse box
The under bonnet Engine Fuse Box is not the BSI. Generally these do not need coding to the vehicle, but as I said in my earlier post, DS4 and later C4 models amongst some others do have a configurable engine fuse box, so in your case it will need configuring to your vehicle.
Items such as:
Supply
Heating/Ventilation
Lighting - signalling
Engine Compartment
Visibility
So you can't just swap this over and hope it works as some of your equipment like the lighting may not work properly for example.
Unless you know what you are configuring, I think it's best left for the dealer to do - and be warned if you are sourcing a local used unit, it may not work or may have the incorrect configuration for your vehicle. But importantly, a dealership with the official diagnostic tools may not touch it if you have a used or self-sourced part, as they won't normally take the liability for configuring electronic units that are not new.

Re: 2013 DS4 fuse box
Thanks Marc for your help.
She called in to Citroen near us today. Very unhelpful to be honest. Quoted something like €570.00 plus vat for the fuse box and possibly 3 hours labour plus other fees on top. No interest in doing the job at all for her.
I work in a Machinery dealership myself and I'm fairly familiar with software on our own products. What version of software would I need and is it readily available to the public ? The proper version so to speak.

Re: 2013 DS4 fuse box
There are new ones from Eurocarcare.net (not to be confused with ECP), that have genuine new ones for £214 inc. VAT:
https://www.eurocarcare.net/bulbs-fuses ... e-box.html
You would still have to configure it though as as this is a 2013 vehicle Diagbox V7.58 should be able to do this for you and allow manual telecoding without access to PSA servers.
A decent kit will be about £140, as you'll need a Revision C full chip kit with all hardware (anything under £100 is not likely to be the full ticket). Plus you'll need a dedicated laptop ideally with Windows 7 32 bit to run it on. 64 bit versions will not work with the encapsulated software required for 2088 and earlier vehicles.
It can be a pig to install and worse to uninstall fully, which is why we suggest a dedicated laptop.
The official software is not available to the public, but 'modified' versions are generally supplied with the cloned VCIs. Easydiagnostics are recommended by me and many other members as suppliers, but they do run out quite quickly.
