Installation of radio RT2 phone function citroen c5mk1 2002. 3.0V

Unread post by fryko112 »

Hello, I am in the process of assembling the rt2 radio, generally everything works, but the function in the phone does not fully work, the only thing I could find on the internet is that I need navigation for this function to work properly (at the moment the radio does not respond to buttons, i can only reject the call, and turn the phone on and off) however when i remove the radio from the bsi then the phone function works. I have a monochrome display. Is there any way to bypass the need to install navigation? is it enough that I add a driver (I read that there were navigations for a monochrome display) has anyone already dealt with the topic? in the car I had a ready installation for this radio (gsm antenna) can I also have an already installed installation for the installation of navigation? :)

It's probably not so much the navigation, but more likely compatibility with the multi function display which needs to be correct as this is linked with the Head Unit for correct operation and has some control over the head unit. If the MFD is incorrect then it won't work.

There were 3 types of display overall depending on the system and telematics options you had, and for the RT2 only one display type of which there were 7 possible parts.

it makes sense, I have a diagram on which there is no navigation, and a radio-telephone is mounted. Do you know what the display is supposed to be? one of the "small" monochrome ones, or does it have to be a big colorful one?

No the large colourful one is not for the RT2 - only the RT3.

I can't tell you for sure as the screens are dependent on build date and equipment - but trying to get one of those now is going to be difficult I suspect....

my friend has RT2 and has a monochrome display, I don't know if the phone function works for him, I will try to check it, if it works, then there is a chance that I will know what the display should be

And of course it may sound a stupid question, but I guess you have already checked the SIM card is inserted and is valid....

yes, the card is new and works, I checked in my friend's car, and his phone works, at first glance, there are no differences in the display, there is no navigation either, in a week we will look at the display and the radio, maybe we can find something

I think you were right with the display, today I checked what it is in my car, and the numbers show 6155v6, which is not compatible with rt2, I already ordered 6155v1 and I hope it will work. interestingly, when I unplugged the display, I turned on and off the ignition, then I plugged in the display, the phone came to life, and it worked until I turned it off, so it may actually be the display

Unfortunately, after replacing the display with one that should work, the phone still does not work

It all depends on the model and build date as the units changed.. Maybe your friend has a later or earlier display...
