Citroen C5 Wiper Motor Fault Code - 0F1A?

Unread post by Jay_P92 »

Hi everyone. New to the forum, if I’m posting incorrectly feel free to punish accordingly.

My Citroen c5 2008 seems to have lost all wipers, I realise this is a very common problem as I can see a lot of previous posts so I’ll keep this brief.

I’ve plugged in my SOLUS ULTRA and I’m getting an error message “Windscreen wiper Motor: LIN between the two motors fault - not categorised - local” the code is 0F1A. I’ve not seen this specific fault code on any post I’ve read so far so wondering if anyone can tell me what they think this means? No other problems with the car electronically at all.

I’ve checked fuses and they’re fine and I’ve checked and my car isn’t in the recall VIN range. Are we just looking at a motor replacement here? If so which one?

Thanks

That code isn't coming back, but regardless, it needs Diagbox on it really to identify the specific issue - it possible (see last paragraph). These are in a Master / Slave with each wiper motor having an ECU, with the right side motor being the master. But as they communicate together, it's not possible to determine which one from the info you have supplied.

The fact that is says it's a 'not categorised local fault' means it can't tell you any more about the fault as it can't communicate with one or more of the ECUs because of the problem that exits. So you may have to take them apart (there are some threads on the forum about this) and see if water has got in an d corroded the circuit boards which is the common problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had assumed that one of the ECUs was possibly so toast it was completely uncontactable, they were being intermittent for a little while and then completely packed in yesterday so possible water ingress.

I’ll take them apart and see what I can see then look for a replacement if that’s the obvious fix. Thank god it’s not so close to Christmas or I might struggle to pay the eye watering price for them…

They'll get progressively worse - with intermittent behaviour - one wiper sticking up then random erratic behaviour, so be careful.

Looking to sort them asap. Do you know the part numbers for these at all? Can’t find a straight answer on it anywhere. For UK right hand drive. Thanks.

We can help if you need an original genuine part number, part diagram or vehicle factory build sheet and can't already find the info you need on the Forum. For this service, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 3 years (pending continued service availability), so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then provide your vehicle's VIN in full, which will be masked automatically when you submit your post.
